Girls Leadership, Be Nice, Lacrosse, Band, and a SLCC employee. She plans to attend Medical School at University of Michigan or Michigan State University. Foundation No Report New Generations Interact Club is self sufficient, the students know what they are doing. Herman Miller can event has been successful. Tracy indicated that Rotary International will contribute $500 for the annual dive in, they just need to write our board a request. Coming up is Life Leadership, Boys and Girls State. There are 3 scholarship from the GHACF the staff is promoting this to the SL students. DEI On behalf of the DEI Committee, I invite each of you to my home on Thursday, March 9th at 7pm to discuss our current book, White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Dr. Robin DiAngelo. World Community Service There is $10,000 remaining from the Honduras Project. Any project that submits to use this money must involve COVID or COVID related problems. Doug Heins indicated that on his last trip it was wonderful to see that they have garbage trucks, things are changing and improving there. Communication Bulletin has been sent each week, our website continues to have a few issues. There is information on Shamrock & Roll on our website. With the Irish Theme, we might also include Irish dancing. Next week will distribute raffle tickets to sell. Each Rotarian is asked to sell 15 tickets. Price is 5 for $100 or $25 each. Tracy indicated that we have procured $9,000 in sponsorship dollars, we need to acquire about $2000 additional. He encouraged members to ask friends, family and/or local businesses to support Shamrock & Roll. Membership We have roughly 40 active members, 60 active or honorary members. Rotarians are encouraged to invite people to attend a lunch and learn more on how they can become members. On the website, there is an expectations section on what we do, how much it costs to join Rotary Club of Spring Lake. In the past, we did have a checklist administered after the fireside chats. There was a question if we still hand that out and encourage new member to accomplish those tasks. Sunshine This year we have had many cloudy days, in that we have lost many members. The budget has been exceeded due to the many funerals occurring in 2022. Rotary International Raffle Tickets Tracy encouraged members to purchase $20 tickets.
