Cole Gaskin, son of Gary and Marie Gaskin, has been named Spring Lake High School’s Rotary Student of the Month for January. He will be honored by the Spring Lake Rotary at our January 12th meeting!
When Cole Gaskin’s name is mentioned, positive comments always follow. One of Cole’s teachers summed him up, “Cole is an outgoing young man who has made a difference in the lives of students that feel unnoticed and marginalized.  He is always willing to take the time to draw people into conversations, whether it be adults or peers.  He is a voracious reader, deep thinker, video gamer and has a vast knowledge of animal husbandry and farming.”

Most students across the country spend the early morning hours before the school day stealing as many extra minutes of precious sleep as they can before the day begins. Cole is literally awake with the chickens.  Cole runs a successful business, Chicken Cole’s Egg Barn, which delivers farm fresh eggs to staff at Spring Lake High School and elsewhere.  The young entrepreneur has also expanded his operations with a honey business as well.

Cole brings his diligence into the classroom, enrolling in the Dual Enrollment program and also earning a spot on the honor roll.

Finally, when he is not busy with his businesses or school work, Cole enjoys reading, writing, tending to his animals, playing video games and spending time with his friends and family.  Cole Gaskin’s generous spirit and kind heart embody the Laker ideal.
