Congrats to our December Student of the Month - Zachary Penrice!Zachary Penrice, son of Gina Penrice and the late Jim Penrice, has been named Spring Lake High School’s Rotary Student of the Month for December. He was honored by the Spring Lake Rotary at their December 15th meeting.
Discovering the power of “Service Above Self” of Rotary International, Zach participated in Interact, the service club sponsored by Rotary. He is also a 2 year member of the National Honor Society. With those clubs he has helped raise funds for those organizations as well as been on the leaf raking team cleaning up our community.
Tennis is a passion for Zach. He has been a four year member of Spring Lake High School’s tennis team earning a varsity letter. Another passion of Zach’s is baseball. He represented Spring Lake High School as a member of the JV baseball team for 2 years and currently participates in a summer travel baseball league.
Zach excels in the classroom as well. He currently carries a 3.8 gpa earning him a spot on the honor roll every trimester of his high school career. Zach challenges himself daily with AP courses.
Finally, Zach’s other interests outside of school include fishing, learning about history and traveling. One of his fondest high school memories was traveling to Europe with the SLHS Travel Club this past summer.
